The Osaka-Kansai Expo (EXPO 2025) is an international exposition to be held in Osaka in 2025.
Countries and institutions from around the world come together to exhibit the latest technology, culture, and art.
International expositions are classified into "registered exhibitions" and "recognized exhibitions," and the Osaka-Kansai Expo is a large-scale registered exposition held once every five years.
This will be the first World Expo in Japan in 2005 years since the Aichi Expo held in Aichi in 20, and the first in Osaka in 55 years, and expectations are high for Osaka Expo 2025, which is expected to mark a major evolution.
The theme of Osaka Expo 2025 is "Designing a Future Society for Life."
Based on this theme, the objectives of Osaka Expo 2025 are to "contribute to achieving the SDGs by 2030" and "realize a human-centered society that combines virtual and real worlds to achieve both economic development and the resolution of social issues."
Another concept is a "testing ground for future society," with the aim of Osaka Expo 2025 becoming a place for the exchange and sharing of ideas.
Furthermore, Osaka Expo 2025 has been given the following five characteristics in line with its master plan:
1. A venue where you can feel the sea and sky
2. A World Expo that brings together "Bright Futures for Life" from around the world
3. The Expo showcases future technologies and social systems
4. An Expo where you can enjoy authentic entertainment
5. An Expo that strives for comfort, safety, security and sustainability
These are also well reflected in the highlights that I will introduce later.

The venue facilities for Osaka Expo 2025 itself are also one of the highlights.
Designed by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, the "Ring" is one of the largest wooden structures in the world and represents the Osaka Expo 2025 philosophy of "diverse yet united."
Other highlights include the EXPO Hall, the symbol of the Osaka Expo, and the futuristic EXPO National Day Hall.
Another highlight of Osaka Expo 2025 is the "Overseas Pavilion," where each country will introduce its latest technology and culture. You will have the opportunity to experience the charm of each country and experience advanced technology.
Each pavilion has an original architectural design based on the theme of its respective country, so you can enjoy the various exhibits, including their exteriors.
Osaka Expo 2025 will also feature pavilions from the Japanese government and various Japanese companies.
There are a variety of exhibits to enjoy, including the "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION," which features a life-sized Gundam statue that stands about 17 meters tall, and the "BLUE OCEAN DOME," where visitors can have fun while learning about the concept of environmental protection.
The Signature Pavilions of Osaka Expo 2025 have been produced by eight leading professionals in various fields, each with their own theme.

Various ceremonies and events will be held during the Osaka Expo 2025.
For eight days from the opening day of the Osaka Expo, an event called "Physical Twin Symphony" will be held, where visitors can experience music that combines AI and virtual reality.
In addition, each country's national day and special days for international organizations are held, and ceremonies and cultural events are held on these days.
Don't miss the "Blue and Night Rainbow Parade," a water show that combines water, air, light, fire, video, and music, which will be held every night during the Osaka Expo.
The official mascot of Osaka Expo 2025 is "Myakumyaku."
The red parts represent "cells" and the blue parts represent "clear water." He is a friendly character who is a bit clumsy.
Even before the Osaka Expo 2025 opens, trains wrapped in Miyakumyaku designs will already be running.
If you are considering a trip that includes a visit to the Osaka Expo 2025, why not consider a lodging plan that allows you to rent an entire building in Osaka for a more authentic Japanese experience?
I'd like to introduce two recommended facilities.
At Sky Dome Hannan, a glamping facility that offers spectacular views of Osaka Bay, you can enjoy a luxurious glamping experience by renting an entire large dome tent.
The meal plan includes a glamping BBQ centered around local Osaka ingredients such as Naniwa black beef and octopus, which will satisfy both your stomach and your soul.
We also recommend Rinku no Yado MARUYA Izumisano, which is easily accessible from Kansai International Airport.
With a spacious shared space and six Japanese-Western style rooms, it can accommodate up to 6 people, making it an ideal facility for group trips or family trips.
It is an ideal base for traveling to not only the Osaka Expo, but also Universal Studios Japan and the Kaiyukan Aquarium.
If you want to make the most of your Expo trip, we also recommend visiting the areas surrounding Osaka. Why not take advantage of the opportunity to visit Osaka and go a little further out of the city for a glamping trip that's a little different from your usual trips?
We've picked out some glamping facilities where you can enjoy not only sightseeing but also the natural beauty of Kansai!
Grand Dome Kobe Tenku is located within an hour from Yumeshima and about 1 minutes from Kobe Sannomiya. While looking down on the spectacular Kobe scenery, you can enjoy various experiences such as hot springs with natural spring water and BBQ. Some rooms have hot springs and saunas, so you can spend even more relaxation time.
Did you know that you can get to Awaji Island, a resort area in the Kansai region, in about two hours by train or one hour by car? One of the recommended facilities where you can stay in a dome tent on Awaji Island is "Glamping Resort Awaji," where you can enjoy the outdoors while looking out at the sea. Enjoy a bonfire in a private space, or get a resort feel in the heart-shaped pool... you can spend your time however you like!
For those who want to experience a more resort-like atmosphere, the "Private Villa Awaji J Island" with its pool, sauna, and jacuzzi is perfect. Enjoy a luxurious and extraordinary stay while looking out at the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. The room charge system allows for a maximum of eight people, so it is also great for two families traveling together.
Kyoto is a representative city of Japan. It's nice to visit the main city of Kyoto, but why not spend your holidays in the quiet and elegant Keihoku area, a little away from the city? At "Retour Kyoto," you can enjoy exquisite Kyoto cuisine and a guest room bath with a view of the clear stream.
Shiga is famous for Lake Biwa, which is surprisingly easy to access from Kyoto. Located right next to Lake Biwa, Lakeside Terrace Biwa is an experiential outdoor resort with hot springs in every room. From dome tents with a full outdoor feel to luxurious rooms that combine the outdoors with hotel rooms, even outdoor beginners can use it with peace of mind.
Shirahama is another representative resort area in the Kansai region. If you want to experience a luxurious resort atmosphere in Shirahama, we recommend "AnEland Grand Dome Wakayama Shirahama." Enjoy a relaxing private space surrounded by the sea. It is also perfect for anniversaries to celebrate with loved ones.
Above, we have summarized the Osaka Expo 2025's theme, highlights, and how to access and enter.
The theme of Osaka Expo 2025 places emphasis on creating and sharing ideas for the future, and visiting the Expo will be a valuable experience that will provide new insights and opportunities for learning.
When you visit Osaka Expo 2025, be sure to check out not only the tourist spots around Osaka, but also glamping facilities and other accommodation options to plan an even more special Japanese experience.
