Yonago Castle, built on the summit of Minatoyama Mountain, once boasted a four-story, five-tiered main keep and a secondary keep, and was hailed as "the finest castle in the San'in region." However, it was demolished in the early Meiji period and is now designated a national historical site. A 360-degree panoramic view unfolds from the observation deck at the summit. In 2022, it was selected as "Japan's strongest castle" on an NHK program, and a stroll around the castle at sunset is highly recommended.
