Glamping is gaining popularity not only in Japan but also overseas. This time, we bring you an interview with "Hyacinth," a Hong Kong resident who has (likely) stayed at more glamping sites in Japan than anyone else in the world.

In Hong Kong, there is currently a demand for "truly relaxing travel," and interest is growing in places where people can avoid crowds and enjoy peace and quiet. Amid this trend, a Hong Kong KOL (Key Opinion Leader) who experienced glamping in Japan said the following:
"This was the best place I've ever stayed. To be honest, I'm worried whether the video can convey how good it was."
Hyacinth, who is also an ambassador for Resort Glamping.com.

I'm a Hong Kong resident living in Japan who, together with my husband, introduces the lesser-known charms of Japan on various social media platforms.
I've had glamping experiences in Japan about 13 times!

This time, Hyacinth stayed at "Eland," a glamping facility located on an uninhabited island in Shirahama, Wakayama.
Apparently, he didn't have very high expectations at first. He said, "The front looked a little small."
However, the moment we entered the facility in the golf cart—
"It was like a completely different world. It was a completely private space."
They were able to see the sea from inside the dome tent and enjoy a spectacular view along with the sunset.
It seems that what made it worthwhile was not just being able to gaze at the sea, but also being able to see breathtaking scenery that can only be seen there.
The room boasts a spacious interior with a luxurious design based on black, white, and brown tones. It also features a jacuzzi.
"This is an experience that surpasses even a hotel."
What surprised them even more was the quality of the service.
- All-you-can-eat Häagen-Dazs ice cream service after check-in
• A luxurious meal served in a wooden box
• Spacious BBQ area
"It's amazing to be able to experience all this at this price."
I also asked for their feedback.

"The best"
It's absolutely amazing.
I'd like everyone to stay overnight at least once.
I haven't been to a sauna yet, and there are still so many things I haven't experienced, so I feel like I haven't had enough fun.
Everything was absolutely wonderful!

① Bar
The atmosphere of the night bar inside the cave was absolutely fantastic.
② Private beach
The privacy of the people of Hong Kong was protected, which is of great importance to them.
Many people dislike crowded places because they can't relax, but this glamping facility...
The facility allows you to enjoy yourself without worrying about being seen by others.
③ Overall sense of luxury
There are many glamping facilities, but Eland stands out from the others in its luxurious feel.
It's an all-inclusive package that includes drinks, Häagen-Dazs ice cream, sauna, and even stylish amenities.
I think the sense of luxury comes from the fact that it's expressed in various places.
She also said:
"At first, I thought a hotel would be better. But in reality, it was even better than a hotel."

So why did she feel that glamping was "better than a hotel"?
Hyacinth explains the reason as follows:
"Many people in Hong Kong want to take it easy when they travel. They don't want to do anything too difficult. But if they're going abroad, they also want to have a slightly luxurious experience."
Glamping is said to be something that fulfills both of those desires.
- The comfort of being able to go empty-handed
- An extraordinary experience spent in nature
• Hotel-like cleanliness and service
"It's great because you don't need to prepare like you would for camping, but you can have experiences that you wouldn't get at a hotel."

In recent years, the travel styles of Hong Kong residents have changed dramatically.
Previously, popular tourist destinations included classic spots like Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto,
Currently, there is a growing trend towards seeking places that are less crowded and offer a more relaxed atmosphere.
"Kyoto is beautiful, but it's too crowded to relax. That's why I've been deliberately avoiding it lately."
Instead, the chosen locations are lesser-known, hidden gems.
"People in Hong Kong like to go to places nobody knows about. It makes them feel a little special."
Areas like Wakayama, which are easily accessible from major cities such as Osaka, yet remain quiet, are said to be a good fit.

What she values most in her communication is introducing "a Japan that is still unknown."
"I want to introduce not just famous places, but also places that make people think, 'Wow, there's a place like this out there!'"
Actually, the experience of glamping in Japan is...
It's not yet widely known overseas.
That's why the Hong Kong people have a value system that says, "We want to go to places that are not yet known,"
Glamping is a perfect match.
In fact, many of Hyacinth's followers have reportedly visited the glamping facilities she has introduced so far.
"Experiences like seeing sights you've never seen before and going to unfamiliar places can be the catalyst for your next trip."

Hyacinth says that what left the biggest impression on her was the time she spent glamping with her family.
"In a hotel, you're in separate rooms, but with glamping, you can spend more time together."
Cooking together and spending time in the same space.
Even with family members you don't usually talk to much, conversations naturally begin to flow.
"It truly became a memory I will never forget."
Glamping is not just about accommodation,
It's also an experience that deepens relationships with others.
Finally, when asked about the appeal of glamping, he replied:
"I originally thought hotels and traditional Japanese inns were better. But when I actually experienced it, it exceeded my expectations."
・Scenery that can only be seen in nature
- Enjoy the comfort of having nothing to carry.
• A space where you can cherish time with others
"If you haven't experienced it yet, I'd like you to go and try it at least once."
And finally, he said this once more:
"To put it simply, it's absolutely fantastic."
What Hong Kong people are looking for now is not "tourism," but "rest."
In this context, glamping in Japan offers a new option that simultaneously satisfies "tranquility," "luxury," and "an escape from the ordinary."
A "third type of accommodation experience"—neither a hotel nor camping.
Why not give it a try?
