Every year, I always go on a trip overseas during the New Year holidays, but this year it was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. My husband, who works for a company, and I, who are self-employed, don't often have the same amount of time off, so it doesn't seem like we'll be able to go on long trips for a while. We thought, ``Let's refresh ourselves for two days and one night in a short distance!'' and glamping was the perfect option for us.
This time, my husband and I experienced glamping at Grandome Kobe Tenku, which is a short drive from our home.I have spent a fulfilling time enjoying the outdoors and working in a convenient yet comfortable environment.

I drove to Grandome Kobe Tenku from my home in Kobe city.It takes about 10 minutes from the Shin-Kobe Tunnel Minaya exit.It is located in a very accessible location, only about 20 minutes by car from the Sannomiya area of Kobe.As we drove forward, the atmosphere changed dramatically, even though we were only a short distance from the city center.Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, we entered a quiet and calm area surrounded by rich nature.
As the name "Tenku" suggests, Grandome Kobe Tenku is located on a fairly high ground. When you look up, it looks like it's on the top of a mountain. It was located in a corner of the Minotani Green Sports Hotel, which also has a hot spring facility called Ginga no Yu, which is open to day-trippers, as well as a baseball field and tennis courts.
*As of June 2021, hotels are refraining from operating, and only the glamping area is open for lodging.
To enter the glamping area, you must check in at the hotel reception.I felt safe because only hotel guests are allowed in the glamping area. After completing the procedure, we were given an explanation of the activities we could try, how to use the hot springs, and the facilities and common spaces we could use. There are many activities and hot springs to enjoy, and just listening to the explanations makes me excited. The customer service from the staff is polite and friendly.I had a very good impression of it.
Also, since this is a women-only service, we will give away a 4-piece set of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion from the Thai luxury skin care brand ``PANPURI''!As soon as I received it, the pleasant scent of jasmine spread through my mind, and I felt really uplifted. It has a nice scent that will make you feel relaxed and you will become addicted to it.
When you step into the glamping area, you will find yourself in a quiet and open space, which is completely different from the atmosphere around the front desk and lobby, which is crowded with day trip bathers. There is also a campfire space in the central plaza of the glamping area. This area is only accessible to hotel guests, so you won't encounter many people and it will become more and more private!
The vast grounds are dotted with dome tents. It was divided into an area where you can enjoy the night view and city view, and an area where you can enjoy a mountain view full of nature.By the way, we wanted to experience the outdoors, so we stayed in a tent in the mountain view area.Another great thing about the tents is that they are divided into large spaces, so you can spend your time without worrying about other guests. The surrounding area is surrounded by mountains and is rich in nature. You can hear birds chirping throughout.
We stayed in a room called ``Premier Garden,'' which had its own outdoor living room and fire pit. When you step inside, it's much bigger than you imagined. There are four beds, more than enough space for two.It was just opened in March of this year, so the interior was new and very clean.
Even though it was the rainy season on this day, the weather was nice and it was so sunny that I was sweating outside. However, the inside of the tent is air conditioned so it is comfortable.Samue, towels, toothbrushes, and hair dryers are provided in the room. One of the great things about glamping is that you don't have to carry much baggage, so you can come light.
We could enjoy the mountain view from the transparent part of the dome. It's full of nature and you don't see anything artificial. It has a very luxurious structure that allows you to fully enjoy the outdoor feeling while providing a comfortable environment. My husband likes the sofa seat and is looking at the mountain view while opening the beer he brought in right away.
Next to the tent was a dedicated BBQ space and a fire pit where you could start a bonfire. There is also a bench large enough to lie down on, perfect for a workday. As soon as I arrived, I laid out my PC on the bench to finish up the work I had brought with me.In a quiet and private environment where you can hear the chirping of birds, you will be able to concentrate even though you were planning to work leisurely!Work progressed more quickly than I expected, and I completed today's task in no time.
At 16pm, the campfire in the square will be lit.I heard that you can enjoy roasting marshmallows and making popcorn in the evening, so my girlfriend's husband and I decided to give it a try.Hold the popper filled with popcorn over the hot flame. As you shake it and heat it up, you will hear a popping sound.Gradually, the fragrant smell started to come out, and the couple got very excited. And the popcorn is complete.Although it was a little burnt, my husband and I enjoyed it and felt like children again.
There is also a ``hot spring footbath bar'' in the plaza that is available from 19pm to 21pm.While soaking in the footbath flowing from the hot spring water, you can enjoy complimentary drinks such as flavored water and tea bags, as well as alcoholic beverages for a fee.We didn't use it during our stay, so we wanted to stop by next time.
Dinner will be served in a separate BBQ space. After 16pm, the food will be brought to the tent, but once you store it in the refrigerator inside the room, you can start the BBQ any time you like.
Around 18pm, as sunset approached, we laid out the ingredients on the table, lit the BBQ stove, and started cooking. The menu includes Japanese black beef steak, smoked grilled domestic beef, three types of Kobe pork sausages, aqua pazza of red sea bream from the Seto Inland Sea, butter-fried squid from the Seto Inland Sea, skillet dishes such as octopus ajillo and ratatouille, baguettes and bagels, and grilled apples. Dessert skillet and lots of it.
The grilled meat is so soft that it melts in your mouth, and the Kobe pork sausage is so juicy that you can even bite into it.The piping hot ratatouille was served on a lightly toasted baguette. In addition to meat, there are also menus that use seafood caught in the Seto Inland Sea, so you'll be very satisfied!Skillet dishes are colorful and just looking at them makes you feel good.Anyway, the BBQ was so huge that the two of us couldn't eat it all.
It's been a long time since I've had a leisurely drink and meal outside as I haven't been able to go out to eat due to the coronavirus pandemic. BBQ in an outdoor space where you can feel the fresh air by opening the window of the BBQ space.During dinner, we could see the sun setting behind the mountains, and we watched it while drinking beer.Enjoy the extraordinary feeling and the fun of eating outside with a BBQ in an open outdoor space and feel great.
There is no bath in the room, but there is a hot spring called "Ginga no Yu" which is fed directly from the source! This is a natural hot spring that gushes out from 1,200 meters underground, and you can enjoy a variety of baths, including a free-flowing hot spring bath, a lying bath, a bubble bath, a large open-air bath, a tsubo bath, a cascading bath, and a sauna.Enjoy a panoramic view of nature from the open-air bath. There was also a deck chair near the open-air bath where you could lie down and look at the starry sky.Too bad I can't take photos!
The quality of the hot spring water is simple weakly radioactive spring, which is said to be rare and valuable. It is also called the hot spring for all diseases and the hot spring for gout. The source water has a temperature of 37℃, close to body temperature, so the water feels cool and refreshing. It felt so good that I couldn't help but take a long bath.
In addition, you can use the "Ginga no Yu" as many times as you like during your stay, so we enjoyed another morning bath the next morning before breakfast.I took a leisurely soak in the hot springs in the morning and healed my daily fatigue.
During dinner, I said, ``Let's have a bonfire in the fire pit!'' and went to the front desk to get firewood and fire starter, but the wind was so strong that it was difficult to get a fire going. After dinner, I got some extra fire starter and tried it again. As expected, it would disappear with the wind, so I decided to give up and finish my bath.
After taking a bath, my husband told the staff member who shared the fire starter that the bonfire wouldn't start, and the staff member came out of his way to look at our fire pit.I ignited it with ease using the gas burner I had brought with me.The flames erupted in an instant.I was finally able to enjoy the bonfire that I had been looking forward to, and I am grateful to the staff!
At night, I started to feel a little chilly.According to the staff, winter nights can get as cold as Hokkaido. It may be a good idea to bring an extra layer of clothing to protect you from getting cold at night. It was the rainy season in June, but even with a hoodie on at night, the bonfire felt so comfortable.
Afterwards, take a walk around the grounds of the facility. When I looked at the tent in another area, there was a swing on the private terrace. You can enjoy the beautiful night view of the residential area that can only be seen from a hill.It had a completely different feel from the outdoor mountain view that can be seen from our area.
The next morning, after taking a morning bath and feeling refreshed, I had breakfast.Breakfast ingredients can be picked up from the hotel lobby.Take the tray with ingredients back to your room and cook freely on the BBQ stove.
There was a hot sandwich maker in the room, so I tried making hot sandwiches.Sandwich bread with ham, cheese, and plenty of salad, then bake on the BBQ stove until golden brown and it's done! When you insert a knife into it, the cheese will melt from inside. The workmanship is flawless.
Freshly made piping hot sandwiches, salads, yogurt, etc. are placed on a tray and brought to the bench outside. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast while feeling the fresh morning air in a completely outdoor space.
After breakfast, I relaxed for a while and then checked out.The next day, I had to work in the afternoon, so I wasn't able to do much sightseeing, but I stopped by the nearby Roadside Station Awakawa on the way home and bought a lot of fresh vegetables.
The staff at Grandome Kobe Tenku are wonderful and provide hospitality that makes everyone feel welcome.During our stay, we felt warmly taken care of from start to finish. In addition, every inch of the room, common space, hot springs, and even the plants were well-maintained, making my stay a pleasant one. This is a glamping facility where you can spend a comfortable time in a clean and outdoor environment.
Even though it's just a short drive from the city center of Kobe, there's such a wonderful place where you can enjoy the outdoors and hot springs, rich in nature!Nowadays, it is no longer possible to easily travel abroad, so it is not a bad idea to take a vacation nearby. My husband and I have talked about wanting to come back again to take a breather when we are tired from work.
