My only son, who is in his third year of work, lives alone in Ibaraki Prefecture. My husband and I decided to visit our son from Kansai for the first time, and his son made a reservation for us at Glamping Village IBARAKI.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we were able to enjoy a relaxing time with our family for the first time in a while at a glamping facility where we had little contact with other guests and could spend our time with peace of mind.

Glamping Village IBARAKI is about 10 minutes from the Kitaibaraki IC on the Joban Expressway. As you head north on Route 6, you will see a large signboard for "Glamping Village IBARAKI" on your right, so you can arrive without getting lost.
The parking lot is shared with the hot spring facility "Ocean Open-air Bath Yukappe" which is adjacent to the glamping area.Because it faces the Isohara coast, I could feel the scent of the ocean and the sea breeze when I got out of the car.
There is a Family Mart diagonally across the road.We bought drinks and other items in advance at a supermarket that we found right after getting off the expressway, but it seems like it would be convenient if you wanted to buy more drinks or ingredients after arriving at the facility.
The administration building of the glamping facility was located within the bathing facility "Yukappe", and guests checked in at the front desk, which also served as a counter. At check-in, the staff will inform you that you can use the ``Yukappe'' as many times as you like for free during your stay!Currently, morning baths have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, but if you wish, you can take a bath even after checking out at 10am.This is a great service for those who love baths.
Inside the administration building, there is a terrace where all seats have an ocean view, and when we arrived, a group of young people were just enjoying a BBQ.A great location with large glass windows facing the ocean and a view of the horizon. With the magnificent Pacific Ocean in front of you, you can hear the sounds and aromas of delicious meat and seafood grilling.I felt like I was outdoors all at once, and my expectations for glamping increased a lot!
There are two types of rooms: dome tent and trailer type.We stayed in a dome-shaped tent called "Air Dome."
When you enter the tent, you will see a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean right in front of you!One side of the dome was transparent, so you could sit on the sofa and look out.Unfortunately, it was cloudy on the day we stayed, but since we were so close to the ocean, we were able to see far into the horizon.Even though I was indoors, I could feel the sound of the waves and the splashing of the waves.
There is an air conditioner in the room, making it more comfortable than I expected.I thought it was very thoughtful that they provided welcome sweets along with coffee and tea, similar to the sweets provided at inns.I immediately made a cup of tea and enjoyed the ocean view on the sofa.
Next to the dome tent, there is also a clean toilet, shower, and sink. It's not shared like a campsite, so it's an individual space that you can use whenever you like without worrying about other guests.
From the dome tent, you can see Futatsushima, a symbol of the Isohara coast.Since I had some time before dinner, I decided to walk up to see it.As I strolled along the promenade along the coast, I could feel the sea breeze and see the dynamic splashing of the waves.
Futatsushima has become famous as a power spot in recent years because it looks like an elephant. ``It sure looks like an elephant!'' the whole family was excited. The beach seems to be crowded with many swimmers in the summer, so I thought it would be fun to go glamping along with the beach.
Dinner is served on the open-air deck space next to the dome exclusively for guests.Enjoy an outdoor BBQ while feeling the sound of waves and sea breeze. The tension will naturally rise.
A luxurious BBQ menu using local ingredients, with a good balance of delicacies from the mountains and sea, and plenty of volume. There were also ingredients that could only be eaten here, such as Hitachi beef steak and seafood caught at the local Otsu port (on this day, scallops, head shrimp, and clams).
Among the BBQ menu items, my son particularly liked the original dish, ``Ibaraki Prefecture Pork Trimeat Pickled in a Pot''.It was grilled pork belly marinated in a secret mustard sauce, and had a spicy, addictive taste similar to Korean cuisine.
Enjoy the varied menu, including skillet dishes such as ajillo and cheese stone-grilled bibimbap.Just put the skillet or stone grill pot on the gas grill to create an authentic dish.We also have a wide variety of sauces, including garlic steak sauce, homemade sauce, and mustard sauce. You can enjoy the changing taste of different sauces depending on the dish, so you can enjoy the BBQ to the end without getting bored.
The dessert is a baked cheesecake that you put the cheesecake batter in in a skillet on the grill and bake with the lid on for 30 minutes. It's from Kanrakuya, a locally famous cheesecake specialty shop, and is affiliated with Glamping Village IBARAKI, so it's also sold as a souvenir at the administration building. We were looking forward to the last dish, but everyone was full and gave up crying before dessert. However, I just can't pass up this cheesecake!I decided to keep it in the fridge and bake it for breakfast.
We had so much food that we couldn't finish it, and the alcohol went on and on, and my husband was in a good mood after having a drink with his son for the first time in a while. In the midst of nature, parents and children had a lively conversation for the first time in a while.
After enjoying your meal, it's time to enjoy your bath.I brought the face towel and bath towel provided in the room and headed to the ``Yukappe''.Light leaks through the translucent dome tent, making it very beautiful to see from the outside.
Yukappe is a high-concentration artificial carbonated spring bath that is said to be effective in recovering from fatigue and improving health.Follow the carbonated spring bathing instructions written on the wall and slowly soak in the hot water. The slightly lukewarm water is perfect for a long bath.I was able to enjoy my bath time more slowly than usual.
As you take a bath, you can hear the sound of big waves coming from the other side of the open window.Unfortunately, the sun had set and it was pitch black, so we couldn't see the scenery, but we could tell how close we were to the sea by the sound of the waves. If you take a bath in the evening or in the morning, you should be able to enjoy a luxurious bath time while looking out at the magnificent Pacific Ocean.

When I got out of the bath, my son was reading on the relaxing terrace. The walls are lined with manga, and you can read or take a break until 21pm. ``It's like a manga cafe,'' he said, piling up his favorite manga on the table and reading them.
There was also a drink bar in one corner of the relaxing terrace where you could enjoy free soft drinks as many times as you wanted during your stay. You can enjoy a cold drink after taking a bath.
There is a charge for alcohol, but there are three types of alcohol available, including beer and chuhai, and for 3 yen you can enjoy unlimited drinks from 2,000:15 pm to 20:XNUMX pm.We didn't use it because we brought our own drinks, but I think it's a great and convenient service if you're traveling in a group and drink a lot.
When we returned to our tent, the staff had come to light a fire in the campfire space right next to our tent.Air Dome B, where we stayed, had special seats where you could see the bonfire from the deck next to the tent.Spend a relaxing night enjoying the sea breeze and watching the flickering flames...this is a way to spend your time relaxing, which is unique to glamping.
The trailer houses dotted around the grounds were beautifully lit, and even after dark, you could feel the good outdoors atmosphere, and fell asleep quickly while listening to the sound of the waves.
The next morning, a basket of breakfast was brought to us.Just like the BBQ dinner, the breakfast is also very filling! The lineup includes croissants and butter rolls, two types of large sausages, salad, cream corn soup, boiled eggs, green smoothie, and grilled tiramisu. The green smoothie has a slight sweetness that makes it easy to drink, and I thought it would be delicious even for people who don't like vegetables.Like dinner, we ate in an open-air space while feeling the sea breeze.
Grilled tiramisu is a unique sweet that looks like a chiffon cake but tastes like tiramisu. This also seems to be a specialty of Kanrakuya. There was some cheesecake that I couldn't finish eating the day before, so I was wondering if I could finish the two desserts... and I was told, ``If you can't finish it, we've included a takeout bag, so you can put it in there.'' Please put it in and take it home,” the staff instructed us.I'm also glad that they're taking care to make sure I get takeout!
At breakfast, I asked the staff about nearby sightseeing spots and they recommended Otsu Port.It is about a 10-minute drive away, and there is a market cafeteria directly managed by the fishermen's association where you can eat fresh fish dishes, as well as a shop selling local seafood. After checking out, I drove my car and stopped by.Unfortunately, I wasn't able to eat as I was full after breakfast, but instead I took a walk around the fishing port and took a look at the Kitaibaraki City Fisheries History Museum, Yo Soro, which is attached to the port. did.
Afterwards, we went further and visited Gouramisaki Park and Rokkakudo, which are connected to Tenshin Okakura. We enjoyed a spectacular view that reminded us of a Japanese painting, with a green pine forest, white waves crashing on the reef, and an elegant tea room.
Spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, clean equipment and facilities, and courteous and attentive staff. We had a very fulfilling family time at Glamping Village IBARAKI.
My husband and son, who love the outdoors, were very satisfied with the open feeling of camping.Even though I'm not a fan of the outdoors, I was very satisfied with the hot springs and hotel-like facilities.I also thought it would be great to enjoy family glamping in different seasons and locations.
