Work, housework, childcare.Further self-restraint at home continues. We chose ``glamping'' to relieve stress and fatigue in nature, and to have some time alone as a couple.
My husband and I enjoyed a time that provided both an extraordinary and luxurious experience at the ``Hakushiyama Gateway Camp,'' which is easily accessible from the city center.

Usually, I don't have much time for myself due to work, housework, and childcare. Her husband also works from home more often, and the burden of housework falls on me...When she complained to her husband that she felt like she was about to explode due to stress and fatigue, she decided to go out and say, ``Well, let's just refresh ourselves once in a while!''The children will be left in the care of my parents.
A precious moment for the two of us.However, our opinions conflicted: ``I wanted to refresh myself with delicious food and a relaxing space,'' and my girlfriend's husband, who ``wanted to refresh himself in nature.''When camping or outdoors, you don't like insects and heat, and you also have to carry a lot of luggage and take time to prepare. At that time, her husband discovered ``glamping''.
You can experience a higher-grade camping experience in a comfortable space and without any preparation. When I looked at the website of "Hakushiyama Gateway Camp", which is easy to access from home, I saw that it had spectacular Mt. Fuji, delicious food, and resort-like rooms...I thought, "This is it!" and my husband and I decided to try out glamping, which we had never experienced before, at "Hakushiyama Gateway Camp". I decided to have fun camping.
On the day of the trip, I drove from my home in Tokyo to the "Hakushiyama Gateway Camp."
From Tokyo, take Chuo Expressway and get off at Fujiyoshida Nishikatsura Smart IC.I drove for another 10 minutes and arrived. There was a sign 500m before, so I didn't get lost.Park your car in the free parking lot near the gate and head to the front desk.
When you pass through the gate, there is a front desk and restaurant space that looks like a log house. Before registering at the front desk, we received a welcome drink of grape juice and coffee from Yamanashi at the restaurant. My husband was also able to take a breather after driving.
Check-in starts at 15pm.Since we arrived early, we decided to have lunch before reception. The city center is located about 10 minutes by car from the site, and there are restaurants, convenience stores, and other facilities.
When I asked the staff for recommendations and looked up information online, I learned that ``Yoshida Udon'' is famous.I decided to have udon for lunch!I headed to the city by car.
I had Yoshida udon at a restaurant called Shirasu Udon.Udon noodles made in areas with clean water are exceptionally delicious.
Since we still had some time, we decided to have tea at a coffee shop called Monburan.
The menu is extensive, including parfaits. My husband and I were surprised when we chose it.How many years has it been since my husband and I enjoyed tea together in a quiet shop?
While I was relaxing, it was almost time for check-in, so I returned to "Hakushiyama Gateway Camp".
When the time came, I headed to the front desk to finish checking in.After checking in, we will confirm your bath time, dinner, and breakfast. There was also a space at the front desk where you could purchase wine and grape juice from Yamanashi Prefecture.
Finally, go to your room!It was not a room key, but a type that required you to enter a PIN number written on a piece of paper given to you to unlock it.When I entered the room...I was surprised at how spacious it was!It looks like you can spend a relaxing time not only as a couple, but also as a couple with your children.
Two single beds stand by in a position where you can admire Mt. Fuji. There was also a desk and bench.Part of the tent is like a window, so you can both enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji.Despite being so close to the impressive Mt. Fuji, the room is air-conditioned and comfortable.
The facilities include a mirror, hair dryer, wooden table, camping sofa, lantern, insect repellent, and disinfectant spray, so it looks like you'll have a comfortable stay.It seems like you can come empty-handed without any problems.
During my stay, I enjoyed the changing appearance of Mt. Fuji during the day, evening, night, and morning.Especially when Mt. Fuji was illuminated by the moon at night, it had an indescribably magical atmosphere.
Please note that there were no toilets inside the dome, but they were scattered around the front desk and at the waterhole in the dome tent area.
This time, I was glamping with my husband and wife, so we had a relaxing time during our stay.Stroll around the facility, have tea on the cafe terrace, and enjoy conversation with the couple.
When I suddenly looked out the window, I saw Mt. Fuji. The environment was quiet and peaceful, which was different from usual, and I was able to talk with her husband about things that I wouldn't normally have the chance to talk about.
In the parking lot, there was a signboard for the Shushiyama Trail course and observation deck.I think it's also suitable for people who want to enjoy active glamping. If I had children with me, I thought it would be a good idea to try the trail course as a family.
After finishing my work, I realized it was time for a bath.
There are 3 private baths available (2 free and 500 1 yen fee), and we made a reservation for the free bath.I bring a net bag containing a bath towel, body towel, bath mat, toothbrush, and toothpaste from my room and head to the bath.
The bathroom has a 60-minute time limit and is equipped with a shower room and bathtub, both of which seem to be well-organized.The staff checked the bath before actually taking a bath, so I felt safe using it.
The bathtub is a semi-open-air bath, so you can relax in the hot water while looking at the scenery.Since it was just in the evening, I was able to enjoy the view of the sunset. At night, you can enjoy the night view of Lake Kawaguchi.
It's been a while since I've been able to take a relaxing soak in the bathtub, as I'm usually busy taking a bath with my kids. It's a private property, so you can relax and enjoy your time without having to worry about other guests. While enjoying the luxurious scenery of nature, I felt that my daily fatigue slowly eased away.
After getting out of the bath, it's time for dinner!Enjoy BBQ in the roof and window space next to the dome tent. When the time came, a staff member called us to the dome tent. Prepare the BBQ stove and ingredients on the desk in advance. We can sit down and start BBQ right away.
The prepared ingredients were sirloin steak with balsamic sauce, Fujizakura pork loin, beef skirt steak, pork, sausage, vegetable and bacon skewers, baguette, ajillo, salad, and pineapple.
The food is grilled using a BBQ grill, and since it's self-style, you can enjoy the feel of outdoor cooking, and it's nice to be able to eat at your own pace.Since all I had to do was place the ingredients on top, my husband also took the initiative and showed off his skills.
The content is truly voluminous! There was meat, seafood, vegetables, and even pineapple for dessert. It's not just BBQ that just grills ingredients, but they also have unusual menus such as skewers and ajillo, so you can enjoy it without getting bored.I enjoyed the baguette in a variety of ways: eating it as is, dipping it in ajillo olive oil, sandwiching it with other ingredients, and so on.
I heard that it is recommended to eat pineapple grilled, so I had it grilled. The juicy sweetness and aroma of the pineapple left my mouth feeling refreshed after eating the meat!Fill your belly with a satisfying BBQ.
This time, we used a plan that included meals, but if you plan to stay without meals, you are free to bring in whatever ingredients you like for BBQ.If you are bringing children with you, it is a good idea to bring along their favorite foods so that they can enjoy eating them regardless of their likes and dislikes.
The next morning, we had breakfast in the same space where we had BBQ dinner. When it's time for breakfast, the staff will greet you.On the table was a basket containing cutlery, salad, eggs for scrambled eggs, sausage, broccoli soup, three types of bread, yogurt, coffee, black tea, tea, etc.
After receiving an explanation of the breakfast, the staff will prepare the food for you.The menu is scrambled eggs and broccoli soup. When we asked the staff cooking the food for recommended spots nearby, they recommended sightseeing around Lake Kawaguchi and Arakurayama Sengen Park, where you can take photos of Mt. Fuji and the five-storied pagoda.
The piping hot dish is ready in about 10 minutes. While enjoying the fresh air and nature in the morning, we had a breakfast similar to that at a hotel.I'm always so busy in the morning...it's been years since I last had breakfast that someone made for me.The couple enjoyed a leisurely conversation and finished their breakfast with a final cup of coffee.
After checking out, I headed straight to my home in Tokyo. Her husband, who had been having a restless day as telework increased and his home became his workplace, seemed to feel refreshed in the quiet nature.I also had a relaxing time for the first time in a while.
If I ever come again, I would like to bring my children and enjoy glamping as a family of four. There are many sightseeing spots nearby that we weren't able to visit, so next time we'll be able to enjoy them in a different way.
After returning home, the hectic days begin again. This time, with Mt. Fuji, delicious BBQ, and the power I received from nature, I will do my best as a wife and mother again!
