We've been feeling a little exhausted lately from the crowded trains we commute to work and the endless work we do. My co-worker asked me, ``Would you like to go on an overnight trip nearby to relieve stress?'' So I decided to take a half-day off and plan a luxurious glamping trip!
As for my destination, I decided on Sky Dome Hannan, which is located in the Hannan Sky Town Observation Park in the lush greenery of Hannan City, Osaka Prefecture, in order to make it as easy to get to as possible from my workplace in Umeda.
It's a new glamping facility that just opened in March, and it was during the period of the Osaka Prefecture Resident Discount "Osaka Welcome Campaign 3," so we were able to stay at a great deal!

On this day, I worked hard in the morning, took a half-day off in the afternoon, got into my co-worker's car, and set off right away!Is it really possible to enjoy the outdoors in a place that's only an hour's drive from Umeda?I was skeptical, but as I got off the Hanwa Expressway, a tranquil green landscape spread out in front of me.
The road is winding and curved, and the destination seems to be approaching...My excitement grows as I wonder what kind of place it is. "Oh, isn't it over there?" her co-worker said. When you see a round, white tent on top of a small hill, you've finally arrived. It was cloudy when we departed, but as soon as we arrived, the blue sky began to spread through the clouds.
After arriving at Sky Dome, first check in at the reception.Since we were traveling with two girls who were new to glamping, we received a lecture from an older staff member about how to use the facilities and about campfires.
The first thing that surprised me when I arrived was the view from the hill. This place is known as the best-kept secret spot for night views in the Senshu area in the southwestern part of Osaka Prefecture.Located at an altitude of 140 meters, Sky Dome offers unobstructed views of Osaka Bay and Kansai International Airport. You can clearly see the airport connecting bridge that stretches straight towards the airport island, and on clear days, you can even see the night view of Awaji Island and Kobe beyond.
I was able to instantly forget my daily life in front of the beautiful ocean view from the hill.
This facility just opened in March 2022.The white dome tent was shiny. This time I wanted to feel rich, so I stayed in a room with a jacuzzi!
When we took a short walk around our room, we found that in addition to the tent with a jacuzzi we were staying in, there were standard dome tents, large tents for large groups, and tents with dog runs where you could stay with your dog. There is bouldering equipment on site, so you can enjoy it as an activity. If you bring children of elementary school age, you'll probably have a lot of fun.
A group of people with pets were walking their dogs around the facility.A refreshing breeze blows and the dogs look comfortable too.
The inside of the dome tent is very bright and has a feeling of openness. It's spacious enough for two people to stay together. The interior was decorated in blue and white, which matched well with the ocean view.It was hot and humid outside, but the air conditioner inside made it very comfortable.
There are four beds, hammocks, and beaded cushions, so you can relax while admiring the outside scenery. When I tried lying down in the hammock, it was very comfortable and the blue sky with clouds looked very beautiful.
There is a manual coffee grinder inside the tent, so you can grind your own beans and enjoy freshly ground coffee.A kettle from the stylish home appliances ``Russell Hobbs'' and colorful mugs from ``CAPTAIN STAG'' will further enliven the glamping mood.
There is also a shower room, washroom, and toilet, so the facilities are not much different from a hotel.A nice point for girls when they come outdoors is that the sanitary space is clean! There is a Wi-Fi environment, and there are outlets everywhere, so it's easy to charge your smartphone, and if you bring your computer, you can use it for work.
I heard that you can get a welcome drink here, so after taking a breather, I immediately went to the administration building to get one.The welcome drink is self-service, and from check-in until 21pm, you can enjoy draft beer, lemon sour, highball, and 7 types of soft drinks as much as you want♪
While I was wondering what to make, I discovered an original cocktail recipe! There are 16 recipes for beer-based and non-alcoholic cocktails.Since I was planning to take a sauna later, I made a non-alcoholic cocktail called "Apple Ginger" by mixing apple juice and ginger ale.The cocktail I drank while looking at the ocean view was extremely delicious ♡
At Sky Dome Hannan, you can experience an outdoor sauna in a Russian-made tent sauna.Clothing is required for the tent sauna next to the administration building, so change into clothes that you don't mind getting wet before entering the sauna!
When I opened the entrance to the compact tent sauna, warm air flowed in.When you pour water over the hot sauna stone, it makes a pleasant sizzling sound and generates steam. As I sat chatting with my colleagues, I started to sweat.
It was my first sauna experience and I gave up after about 5 minutes.I left my co-workers and went outside first, and the breeze felt so good that I quickly washed off my sweat in the shower set up in front of the tent sauna and enjoyed the outside air.
Then, I went straight to the jacuzzi in my room filled with hot water!Enjoying the ocean view while soaking in the jacuzzi on weekdays will make you feel like a celebrity. The sauna and jacuzzi refreshed my mind and body, completely removed my daily fatigue, and increased my motivation for work.
In the evening, the heat gradually eases and the temperature is just right for starting a BBQ.Then, the main course of this rich trip, the glamping BBQ that I was looking forward to the most, was brought to me. I was surprised by the large portion of the menu, which made me wonder, “What, this is enough for two people?”The staff carefully explained how to use the BBQ grill, how to cook, and how to eat.
Once the skillet food is cooked and the steak is grilled, it's time to toast with the beer you've been waiting for!First, when I took a bite of the Naniwa Black Beef sirloin steak, the juicy, sweet fat spread in my mouth.Thick-sliced bacon and bone-in sausages go perfectly with beer.
Skillet dishes, which are indispensable for outdoor meals, use plenty of local ingredients from the Senshu area. The menu was full of excitement, such as ajillo filled with octopus, aqua pazza with fresh red sea bream, and cheese fondue topped with a whole camembert, so I couldn't stop eating my chopsticks (lol). In addition, the Senshu Mizunazu pickles, which are unusual for a glamping BBQ menu, are very juicy and refreshing in the mouth.Glamping is also a place where you can enjoy seasonal specialties such as authentic Senshu water eggplants.
BBQ while watching the sunset was a truly luxurious time.
Once you've filled your stomach with BBQ, it's time to prepare for the campfire, which is the best part of camping. Each room had a separate campfire space and two bundles of firewood were provided.Assemble the firewood in the shape of a ``well'' as instructed by the staff, place the fire starter in the center, and light the fire.It was a bit windy, so I was worried about whether or not it would start properly, but I was able to light it easily, even as a novice at starting a bonfire.
Prepare freshly ground coffee and s'mores for dessert, and enjoy a relaxing bonfire while listening to the soothing sound of crackling wood. The night view that spreads out in front of you is also romantic, and it is also recommended for couples traveling.
The girls talked non-stop in front of the bonfire, and before I knew it, they had been talking for two hours, which surprised me (lol). When the campfire burnt out, I suddenly looked up at the night sky and saw a beautiful starry sky.It was a little cloudy, so the sky wasn't full of stars, but I was able to see a lot of stars that I couldn't see in the city.
The next day I woke up early and when I went outside the tent I saw the sun starting to rise.I didn't expect to be able to see both the sunset and the sunrise in the same place, so I felt like I was lucky.
The breakfast menu includes two types of hot sandwiches, fresh vegetable salad, and orange juice.Use a hot sandwich maker to make hot sandwiches with ham and cheese and tuna and salmon.Feel free to change the combinations to create your own original sandwich. For breakfast, we headed to our private garden with beautiful greenery so that we could enjoy it while admiring the view that spreads out below us.While feeling the pleasant breeze, you can stuff your mouth with a piping hot hot sandwich and the cheese will melt from inside!I was able to immerse myself in a happy mood from the morning.
Another breakfast treat is the ``Drinking Mikan,'' a concentrated juice made from 100% Arita mandarin oranges from Wakayama Prefecture, which is also popular as a gourmet food.I was very happy to see this on the breakfast menu.
A rich glamping girls trip to enjoy after work. This time, we took a half-day off to visit, but since it's only an hour from Osaka city, we thought we could have plenty of fun even if we left the office on time and visited on our way home from work. It's difficult to make reservations on weekends, but it's easy to make reservations on weekdays, and if you check out early in the morning, you can go straight to work.
A glamping trip that refreshes your mind and body with a sauna, jacuzzi, luxurious glamping BBQ, and campfire. It might be the number one place to visit if you're tired of the hustle and bustle of the city! ``I'll definitely come back again,'' we thought as we headed to work, enjoying the afterglow of our trip.
