We're spending more time at home, and when was the last time we went out as a family?Camping seems like a lot of preparation, but glamping is an easy way to experience the great outdoors. So, my family and I decided to go on a glamping trip. This time our family visited Glamping Resort Awaji on Awaji Island. There were plenty of activities and facilities that the whole family could enjoy.

I will take the wheel to get to the site!I drove from my house to Glamping Resort Awaji, which was a little further after getting off at Awaji IC.It only takes about 30 minutes from Shin-Kobe Station.
When you park your car in the parking lot, you will be greeted by a huge white dome and a giraffe sculpture! My son, who loves animals, got excited and started tugging on my arm.
Glamping Resort Awaji just opened in May 2021 as Awaji Island's first dome-shaped glamping facility. It's a clean and new facility.
When I headed to the administration building from the parking lot, I was greeted by a retro-looking tuk-tuk!It feels like you're at an Asian resort.
I completed check-in at the administration building first. At this time, the children will be given an original tin badge as a present. At my son's urging, I immediately attached it to my bag. Those who wish can also receive a free same-day ticket to a hot spring facility located about a 7-minute drive away.We refrained from going there due to time constraints, but we thought it would be nice to be able to spend a relaxing time in a hot spring.
There are 2,900 dome tents scattered across the vast 7㎡ site. Pets are also allowed in the three buildings. Our family stayed in a sun-yellow tent called "NANOHANA."
The tent has a diameter of 10m and can accommodate up to 10 people. It's more than enough space for our family.I had the luxury of using it during my stay.
The dome tents within the facility are separated from each other, so it felt like it was completely reserved. The measures against the coronavirus within the facility are being taken to the fullest, and there are almost no opportunities for close contact.Even in the new normal era, I felt that it was a facility that many people and families could use with peace of mind.
When you enter the dome tent, you will feel like you are in a resort hotel overseas!Stylish furniture, high ceilings, and ocean views right in front of you.It is a room with a high quality and luxurious feel, and a relaxing atmosphere that makes you feel like you are in your own living room. Her wife exclaimed, ``It's wonderful!'' and our son was so excited that he entered the room and immediately jumped into bed!
The dome tent was far more beautiful than I had imagined, and I was so excited for a while. My son begged me to sit on the stylish hanging sofa, so I picked him up and made him sit.My son has a smug look on his face, sitting on a sofa that looks like a king.
Restrooms and showers were also well-equipped within the area.It was very comfortable because I was able to use it only with my family without having to share it with other guests. You can also listen to the radio while taking a shower.Amenities such as oil shampoo, conditioner, and refreshing citrus-scented body soap are also available, just like in a hotel. There were pajamas, towels, toothbrushes, etc.My wife and I laughed and said, ``I'm glad I didn't have to carry much luggage,'' as I looked at the fully equipped facilities.
After a while, a consommé soup made with whole onions and bacon, a specialty of Awaji Island, was brought to the room as a welcome soup.Take a breather with the rich onion flavor and warm soup.
NANOHANA's dome tent also has its own Jacuzzi. You can enjoy the jacuzzi privately without any worries. The hot water can be filled automatically, so you can easily relax in the jacuzzi whenever you want.Enjoy a jacuzzi with your family without having to soak in the water, surrounded by nature! It's been a while since I had a good time.
At night, I turned on the light inside the bathtub and used the jacuzzi while enjoying the night breeze.Enjoying the jacuzzi while looking at the starry sky is perfect for the mood.I noticed that my daily fatigue was starting to ease.
There was a pool bar "Cafe & Bar Awaji" in the shared facilities of Glamping Resort Awaji. There was a cute heart-shaped pool, and my wife took a picture of it with her smartphone.Guests can swim freely in the pool from July to September. Our family visited in June, so unfortunately it was not available.
After the sun goes down, you can also enjoy a bonfire.Unfortunately, there was a strong wind during our stay.Unfortunately, I wasn't able to experience the bonfire...Actually, I secretly have a longing for campfires, so I'd like to take advantage of that next time I'm here, including swimming in the pool!
At Glamping Resort Awaji, you can enjoy glamping BBQ during dinner. If you're camping, you'll have to prepare everything yourself, but it's definitely glamping. There is no need for any troublesome preparations such as starting a fire or cutting ingredients. The BBQ ingredients will be delivered to the outside terrace after 18pm, so all we have to do is light the stove and start cooking smoothly! It's easy.
BBQ is a man's dish!At the glamping BBQ, I was in charge of showing off my skills as a father and heating the ingredients.Awaji beef and Awaji pork sausages unique to Awaji Island are added to the stove one after another.Heat things like whitebait and shrimp ajillo, chicken stew in tomatoes, etc. in a skillet.
Perhaps because of the unusual feeling of seeing his father cooking, his son volunteered to help by carrying the dishes.
I smartly placed it on my family's plate, saying, ``Be careful, it's hot!''Even though I'm new to camping, I was able to show my family how cool it was through glamping.
In the administration building, there was an "Island Vegetable Marche" with fresh vegetables harvested on Awaji Island. You can put your favorite vegetables in the basket given to you when you check in and use them freely during the BBQ.
Since I have so many fresh vegetables at my disposal, my wife excitedly throws all the vegetables into the basket. At the BBQ, we ate plenty of vegetables such as mushrooms, potatoes, and paprika.Even my son, who doesn't usually eat vegetables, was happily eating grilled vegetables such as sweet bell peppers and sweet potatoes.
At night, you can sleep in a tent at a comfortable temperature without worrying about insects. The whole family slept soundly on the comfortable bed.
Breakfast ingredients were delivered to the terrace just like dinner.Enjoy your breakfast in nature while breathing in the fresh morning air. His wife cooked eggs using the BBQ stove. While getting ready, my son and I enjoyed the view from the terrace.
I made a sandwich with plenty of crunchy lettuce, ham, cheese, and cooked eggs on white bread.I poured coffee for the two adults and apple juice for my son and set the table. There was also wakame soup and Awajishima milk.Eat a well-balanced meal in the morning to recharge your energy.I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast while enjoying the refreshing breeze.
Check out at 10am.The staff were attentive until the end, asking if there was anything you noticed. Thanks to you, we were able to enjoy glamping comfortably and happily!
This was our first time on Awaji Island, so after checking out, we went sightseeing around the island.I enjoyed visiting the sightseeing spots that I had researched in the guidebook in advance.
Awaji Island has so many attractions that it was difficult to choose where to go.What I couldn't miss was the popular "Hanasajiki".It is a large park filled with flowers, and you can enjoy a panoramic view from the top of the hill. There's also a nice cafe with a resort feel that women seem to like.At my wife's urging, we enjoyed tea with the family.
Next we headed to Izanagi Shrine, which is famous for the myth of birth of the country.Perhaps sensing the solemn atmosphere of the temple grounds, the children also quietly visited the shrine. We enjoyed the majestic scenery of the 900-year-old Meoto Camphor tree, a natural monument, and the vermilion bridge.
Staying at Glamping Resort Awaji, which included sightseeing on Awaji Island, was the perfect trip for our family, who were making their debut on Awaji Island.Camping as a family with small children can be difficult, but with glamping, which requires no preparation, we were able to enjoy the best parts of camping without the hassle or hassle. The entire island of Awaji Island is like a theme park, and there are still many places I want to visit.I would definitely like to repeat it again!
