``Once in a while, I want to be freed from child-rearing!'' With that in mind, I planned a trip to take a breather with my fellow mothers who are raising children♪ ``If I'm going to go to the trouble of traveling, I want to see the ocean,'' said Ikuchijima Island on the Shimanami Kaido, where you can see the beautiful Seto Inland Sea and islands. I decided on this as my destination.
While researching accommodations on Ikuchijima, I came across an inn called ``LEMON FARM GLAMPING Shimanami,'' which is located within the facilities of the citrus theme park ``Citrus Park Setoda,'' which reopened in August 2022. discovery. I was curious about what the combination of "lemon" and "glamping" would be like, so I decided to make a reservation.Leave the child in the care of the father and set off on a relaxing trip with two good friends!

It takes about 60 minutes by Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka Station to Fukuyama Station.I rented a car in front of the station and drove for about 3 to 40 minutes when I came across a stone monument with the words ``Shimanami Kaido'' written on it.The sparkling seascape spread out before our eyes, and we were so excited that we came to the Shimanami Kaido! As the Shimanami Kaido is known as a sacred place for cycling, we saw many people enjoying bicycle touring.
We passed many lemon farms and finally arrived at Lemon Farm Glamping. When you get out of the car, you can smell a faint citrus scent. After completing the reception at the administration building, go to your room. The moment I saw the spectacular panoramic view of the islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea and the lemon farm from my private garden, I said, "Wow!"I was speechless at the amazing scenery that can only be seen here.
There are two types of rooms to choose from at Lemon Farm Glamping: dome tents and villas, but this time I chose the ``Sauna Suite Villa'' to relieve my fatigue. This room allows you to enjoy the tent sauna anytime during your stay! The spacious suite villa has two beds, a relaxing tatami space, and an open outdoor living room, and the colorful interior and cloth make it perfect for a girls' trip♪
When you have children, it's hard to keep the house clean, so we were so excited to be able to spend time in such a luxurious and wonderful room.
Three types of welcome drinks were available in the administration building: lemon water, orange juice, and oolong tea.Since we came to a citrus island, we chose lemon water and orange juice.
Cute yellow and green macarons were prepared as welcome sweets in the room. This is an original macaron that can only be eaten here, created in collaboration with Shimagokoro, a confectionery maker on Ikuchijima famous for ``Setoda Lemon Cake''.It was a sweet with a refreshing citrus flavor and a soothing sweetness.Even though we just arrived, we were surprised to be able to find welcome drinks and sweets and citrus gourmet food so soon!
In addition to camping gear and amenities, stylish canvas backpacks and tote bags are displayed in the administration building. When I asked the staff about it, they told me that it was an original backpack created in collaboration with the Tachibana Textile Institute in Onomichi, and that I could rent it for free. The canvas bag is made from citrus branches and leaves that were scheduled to be discarded at Citrus Park, making it a very eco-friendly backpack!
You can freely walk around the large grounds of Citrus Park, so grab your eco-friendly backpack and set out for a walk around the park. You can enjoy a spectacular view of the Seto Inland Sea from the vast garden where 1,300 lemon trees are planted. There was also a refreshing scent of citrus.
After walking around the park, you'll be waiting for sauna time♪ Rent cute ponchos in two colors, gray and navy, and get ready. The tent has transparent windows that allow you to see the outside scenery. Here, you can enjoy a bathing method called ``Loryu,'' which involves pouring water over sauna stones to generate steam.
I don't like stuffy saunas, but L'Oryu has a comfortable warmth similar to a bedrock bath. ``I wonder what daddy and the kids are doing these days?'' ``Maybe they'll be fine without us, right?'' As we were chatting about such trivial things, I started to sweat.
After taking a cold bath in the simple jacuzzi, sit in a reclining chair and take a break in the open air while looking out at the spectacular view.Sweat in the sauna and feel refreshed!I was able to relieve the stress of childcare and feel better both physically and mentally!
While we were having the L'Olye experience, a sumptuous dinner was prepared in the dining area. The amount of items lined up on the table was far more than I expected! I couldn't help but ask the staff, "Can I eat all of this?"
As the name of Lemon Farm Glamping suggests, the dishes are full of citrus fruits, such as hors d'oeuvres using Seto Inland Sea lemon jewelry that bursts with citrus jam and fruit juice, and salads with pink grapefruit and lemon dressing. It's also very gorgeous. It was a BBQ menu where you could enjoy local specialties such as the main sirloin steak, octopus ajillo, aqua pazza, and seafood paella.
There is a dedicated pizza oven on the deck, and you can bake one of the menu items, ``Kamaage Shirasu Pizza,'' by yourself. After receiving a lecture from the staff on how to start a fire, I nervously headed to the pizza oven to make a pot-fried whitebait pizza.
As I carefully grilled it, checking the heat to avoid burning, I could smell the aroma.Remove from the pizza oven and sprinkle with shiso leaves and chopped seaweed to complete your freshly baked pizza. The authentic pizza, baked in a high-temperature pizza oven, was crispy and fragrant on the outside, and when you put it in your mouth, the flavor of the whitebait gradually spread through your mouth, giving it an impressive taste.
After filling your stomach with glamping BBQ, set up some firewood on a stylish bonfire stand and end the day with a campfire. If you bring the marshmallows prepared in the administration building and roast them over a bonfire, you'll have a melty roasted marshmallow♪ It's strange because even if you're full from the BBQ, you can still eat as many sweets as you want (lol). After enjoying the girls' talk as much as we could while looking at the flames making a pleasant crackling sound, we felt reluctant to leave the place behind, thinking, ``I'd like to stay here for at least one more night.''
Inside the room, there is a porcelain bath with a moist texture that makes you feel like you are in a hot spring inn, so you can enjoy a luxurious bath time. When I picked up the shampoo in the bath, I was surprised at how soft and nice it smelled! The shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap, and skin care products provided as amenities at Lemon Farm Glamping were all citrus scented.
All products are from OSAJI, a skin care brand that is gentle on people with sensitive skin.I was able to enjoy a relaxing bath time surrounded by the scent of citrus.Even after taking a bath, I had a refreshing citrus scent and was able to fall asleep comfortably.
I didn't want to oversleep in the morning, so I woke up a little earlier on the second day of my trip.Breakfast consisted of hot sandwiches, local vegetable salad, yogurt, and 2% fruit juice from Nagahata Farm on Takane Island.
A coffee grinder is provided in the dining area, so you can enjoy freshly ground coffee with your breakfast. The beans that were prepared were coffee roasted on Ikuchijima called “OVERVIEW COFFEE”.According to the package description, the coffee beans are characterized by the sweet and sour taste of raspberries and the sweetness of syrup.Indeed, the coffee made by grinding the beans in a coffee mill had a fruity and slightly sweet taste that even I, who don't like black coffee, could drink as is.
It was the most luxurious time to enjoy a piping hot hot sandwich with ham, cheese, and fresh vegetables and freshly brewed coffee while looking at the ocean view and clouds that can only be seen early in the morning.
Lemon Farm Glamping is the perfect place for a relaxing trip or a trip to treat yourself, where you can enjoy citrus gourmet food and ocean views. On the way back, I bought a lot of Setoda lemons as souvenirs for my family, and after returning from the trip, I enjoyed the afterglow of my trip with a lemon pot and a lemon bath.I would like to visit again on a family trip with my father and children.I was able to recharge a lot of energy on a relaxing trip with my mom friends, so I want to go back to being a mom again tomorrow and do my best at raising children!
