I came to STAGEX Takashima in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture to escape from everyday life and relax in the midst of nature.
The landmark of this facility is the three windmills left over from the days of the roadside station Shin-Asahi Windmill Village. When you step inside, you feel like you've stepped into a small village somewhere in Europe.

I decided to go to STAGEX Takashima by train. If you take the JR Kosei Line (special rapid), it takes about 45 minutes from Kyoto Station to Shin-Asahi Station, the closest station to the facility, without changing trains. You'll arrive in no time as you relax and admire the beautiful scenery from the train window.Once you board the courtesy car from the station, you'll be greeted with an unobstructed view of the countryside, and the glamping feeling will get even more exciting.
Furthermore, when you arrive at the site, complete the reception, and exit the center house, you will be greeted by an open space with a total area of approximately 7 hectares.Children might want to run around! ?There is no doubt that it will stimulate your sense of playfulness. No wonder they have badminton, frisbee, etc. at the reception!
This time it's a glamping trip for adults! So, we decided to spend a relaxing time in a glamping cabin.
The room is a stylish space with a slight wood scent. There are 10 cabins in total, and there are several types, all of which have elaborate interiors. ``You can't wait to see which room you'll be in on the day of!'' This is a wonderful and exciting feeling that can only be found in glamping.
Of course, the room was fully equipped with a bath with a view of the outside, a mini-kitchen, a refrigerator, and a toilet, and was fully equipped with amenities.
The deck balcony was most comfortable. Not only can you enjoy a sense of openness as you can overlook the entire grounds, but the murmuring of the stream flowing by the glamping cabin provides the perfect background music to soothe your mind and body.
So...I couldn't leave the hammock for a while.
By the way...STAGEX Takashima has 10 glamping cabins, as well as glamping tents with very cute shapes. There are tents for day use and for overnight stays, but due to concerns about snow in the winter, they are not available until around March.
The website posted photos of tents with interiors as stylish as glamping cabins, so I'd like to consider staying in a tent next time!
In fact, "STAGEX Takashima" is in a prime location where Lake Biwa is right in front of you when you step outside.According to the staff, you can swim in the summer.Even in other seasons, the lakeside scenery is truly beautiful, so I think you can't miss taking a walk while looking at the lake!
Especially recommended is in the evening. The sunset view around the facility is so beautiful that there was a sign that read ``Town of Sunset Views.''There weren't many tall buildings or even private houses in the area, so the sunset scene where the sky turned orange was both powerful and very mysterious.
Just like that, it was 17pm and the staff brought us dinner. For BBQ, you will be given detailed instructions on how to use the stove and cooking methods, so there is no need to worry even if you are not used to the outdoors!
Needless to say, the BBQ dinner was gorgeous. In addition to using plenty of local ingredients, the chef changes the menu to suit the season and ingredients.I can feel your commitment to food.
This time, we'll be featuring hors d'oeuvres made with local vegetables and meat such as Omi beef roast beef and steak, Aqua Pazza with salmon and vegetables, the chef's whimsical pizza, and Takashima, a local B-class gourmet dish from Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture. Ton-chan” is now available!
The locally sourced chicken was seasoned with a sweet miso sauce, making it a perfect dish for BBQ.There were also domestic sirloin steaks, sausages, seafood, and vegetables, and the two of us opened the wine we had brought with us and enjoyed an adult girls' night out, forgetting the time for a while.
On the deck terrace, there was equipment available for making a bonfire, so we decided to purchase firewood at the front desk and start a bonfire.A bucket full of firewood costs 1000 yen. After all, a bonfire is a must-have item for winter glamping!
The warmth of the flames makes you feel comfortable in the crisp, cold night air, creating an outdoor feel.We started the after-party by making tea and coffee that were provided in the room!
Breakfast is delivered the night before, and check-out is at 11am, so you can spend the morning at your own pace.
Breakfast is a gorgeous, healthy meal with rice flour bread made from Koshihikari rice grown in Makino, Shiga Prefecture, fried eggs made from Shiga Prefecture eggs, salad with rich carrot dressing, and sausage.Even though I ate so much last night, I still ate everything this morning.
My favorite in particular is ``Advery Jam'' produced locally in Takashima. The sweet and sour and refreshing aftertaste is addictive. It's also a great service to be able to take home any leftovers!
On the way back, I decided to take the train to Makino Station, which is 3 stations away, and stop at the rows of Metasequoia trees. Our trip ended at a beautiful spot lined with rows of red-colored trees.
In fact, there are ski resorts and hot springs around Makino, so it might be a good idea to use STAGEX Takashima as your base for sightseeing and activities. You can also enjoy fruit picking at Makino Pick Land, which is lined with metasequoia trees.
Next time I come, I want to take a relaxing soak in the hot springs!
